Week#4 Last Photo Challenge

Every image tells a story.

Sometimes images are informational, sometimes emotional.

You folks have created lovely stand alone images for the various photo challenges. For our last photo challenge you are going to use your skills to create a photo essay.

You are going to combine a series of images and connect them to tell a story. There are two assignments. Assignment 1 will take you very little time, the images are provided, all you have to do is organize them and summarize what story your order is communicating to your audience.

Make a copy of this Google slide show. Rename it your last name_Essay-order. Then organize the photos in the best order in the slideshow to tell a logical story. On slide 16 summarize the story your connected images are communicating to your audience. Share it with me when complete.

PHOTO ESSAY

Your images are going to tell a logical story. The sequence should make orderly sense to the viewer.

They should have a wide variety of shots (Close-ups, medium shots, full shot, wide shot)

It is important to order your photos in an effective way to tell your story.

Include both informational and emotional photographs.

Informative show the action, emotional photos show information from creative angles and help to create a mood.

Minimum of 12 images and a maximum of 15.

When you think your Photo Essay is complete, show it to an older member of your family and without saying a word get them to tell you the story you are trying to tell visually through your photographs. You might need to add a new photo and remove others after you have received advise from your family member. By your third or fourth revision you should have an amazing Photo Essay that makes sense, is easy to follow, and is co positionally brilliant.

Look at the following video. The Photo Essay is at the end of the 40 second video. What type of shots are non existent in the process of making the pizza? Are there any steps which were missed in the process of making the pizza? What outstanding shot would you photograph for to close off this pizza making photo essay?
