Click on this link to watch a student's race track animation from first semester.

Today you are going to find an image of a top view of a simple race track , with no cars. Then you are going to find a transparent top view of a car.

Import those into An After effects composition of 1820x1080 and name it racing.

Bring the race track into the timeline, resize it to fit the screen and then lock it.

Bring the race car above the race track in the timeline. Resize the car so it fits on the track.

Move the anchor point to the front wheels of the car with the pan behind tool on the top toolbar.

Hit the "P" key to call position on the timeline. Hit the clock to initiate the animation of the car's position. Move in time, then move the car, move in time then move the car. You should see keyframes on your timeline for position.

***Move the car around the whole track*** do not rotate the car, even if its going sideways or backwards.

When the car has gone all around, bring the CTI (current time indicator) back to time zero.

Hit the letter "R" on your keyboard, click the clock to initiate the keyframes for the animation, move in time and rotate the angle not the revolutions.
